work has been merciful so far just that it's getting pretty tiring to my legs because i usually have to stand & do stuff plus move cartons of books/files around. and because im more or less familiarised with the work stuff my supervisor trusts me with more duties. i mostly end up dragging my feet home & just stay put on the sofa after bathing. rah. hahah.
this week will be VERY busy week because of the sec 1 orientation i.e. textbook sales as well on friday.. which means i've to work OT on certain days bleh. also reminds me of those days. omg sec 1 orientation seemed AGES ago! and what im going say is going to be like a repeat broadcast to someone here but i'm still gg to blog about it anyway!
it's pretty amusing seeing parents bring their sec 1 or sec 2 children to the bookstore to get textbooks and how the kids themselves know nothing abt what texts to buy & what stationery to get. and it makes feel me so nostalgic where there used to be times when my parents brought me to get my books from the bookshop & going up with heavy bags of books. that feeling is oh-so-familiar whenever i pack books into plastic bags for them. hahahah.
i used to feel quite excited whenever i buy texts for the new sch year. but not now because of the heart-breaking price, the intimitating thickness & the daunting small print (apart from the colourful but often useless pictures which provide temporary entertainment) textbooks no longer mean anticipation for me but dread. the dread of carrying such heavy weight home & because it's impossible to study w/o texts now it means
MUST STUDY.
but at least i get to how stupid i must have looked or been when i was in sec (not to say pri) one or two because now i'll secretly laugh at the sec ones or twos whenever they get chided by their parents because they know nothing, and their parents have to get things done for them in the end. so afterall, ignorance is indeed bliss isn't it? :D
suddenly i realise im less than TEN DAYS away from the release of results. SHUCKS.
